• RIMS NE FL Chapter supports Spencer's Internship Program; Risk Managers can apply for $5K Grant

Through Spencer Educational Foundation’s summer internship grants, risk managers provide a real-world education where students can quickly apply what they have learned in class, respond to new situations/challenges, and continue developing industry contacts. The Foundation provides grants of up to $5,000 to provide these experiential learning opportunities. The RIMS Northeast Florida Chapter supports the Foundation and this program. Through a new, multi-year donation, the chapter will fund one internship grant for a Florida-based risk manager each year through 2020.

The deadline to apply is January 9, 2017.

Note: RIMS National and RIMS Northeast Florida Chapter board members, while eligible for the general grant, are not eligible for this sponsored opportunity.

~ Describe and teach risk management best practices, with an early career audience in mind
~ Explain complicated insurance or risk finance theories or tools
~ Enhance the soft skills needed to navigate corporate structures and politics, with an eye on championing risk management

The NeXtGen Summit also offers the benefit of overlapping with the RIMS Legislative Summit meetings on Capitol Hill. NeXtGen attendees will have the opportunity to extend their stay in the nation’s capital to attend meetings with representatives and discuss the important legal issues facing the risk management industry.
